How much bandwidth does the webcam feature use?

Modified on Mon, Jul 11, 2016 at 8:37 AM

The Webinato platform enables live transmission of video from a webcam or a camera. You may use it to show your presenters live or to livecast a seminar.

Webinato offers small video next to presenters' names or a larger, detached video area that can be positioned anywhere in the room.

  • Contact Webinato Tech Support if you require more than four simultaneous live video feeds.
  • Webinato can support multiple live video feeds. There is no actual limit in numbers of feeds. However note the following:
    • Live Video uses a higher amount of bandwidth. Although your presenters might have a high bandwidth, note that attendees might not have a high enough bandwidth to properly view 2-3 feeds, for example.
    • The maximum number of simultaneous feeds you can have in your room is four (4). We suggest you limit the number of simultaneous feeds to 3 or less.
    • The required bandwidth depends on the size and the quality of the video you choose in the room. End users need a bandwidth of 300 Kbps for each medium quality video being streamed, and 500 Kbps for each high quality video being streamed.
    • To test bandwidth, end users may access http://speedof.me or similar bandwidth testing sites. It will give them a measured download/upload speed.
  • Streaming more than one video increases the Kbps required as follows:

End user requirements for high bandwidth video
